Boys & Girls State Junior Counselor Program:
The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs and RTG & Associates, Inc. are pleased to offer six college elective credits (through two courses) for each junior counselor assisting at Boys or Girls State Programs during the Summer 2008 Program. This will be a test program to see if continued credits are warranted for future counselor participants beyond Summer 2008. Counselors must have supported their respective state organization the entire scheduled period in order to earn these credits, without exception.

The course offerings are LEAD 162: Special Topic: Making Connections: Relationships in Learning (3 credits) and LEAD 162: Special Topic: Personal Responsibility (3 credits). Cost per credit is $65.00, or $195 for each three-credit course. Verification of each junior counselor will be coordinated with each Boys and Girls State Director having registrants in the college credit program.

Participants in either or both college credit opportunities will have to submit one paper per course that is a minimum of not less than four, double-spaced, type-written pages (excluding the cover page) on the following subject(s):

Please use and cite at least two reference documents with each paper. These can be resources provided by your state sponsoring organization, or independent readings of personal significance as a result of your summer experience.

Each registrant is requested to submit their paper(s) not later than 20 August for the Summer program to their instructor of record, Mr. Bob Greene, at . Submission of the paper as an email attachment is the preferred method of delivery. Please include your name, the state organization you were a junior counselor for, a reliable email address, long-term reliable telephone number, and course number/title on the cover page. Early submissions are welcomed.
