'Jr. Counselors' at Boys & Girls State leadership programs can start the registration process for college elective credits at this link: Boys & Girls State Jr. Counselors. Please contact Bob Greene if you have any questions. Follow the instructions at the right to help you with your registration process. Complete your academic requirements below for your grade.

Participants in either or both college credit opportunities will have to submit one paper per course that is a minimum of not less than four, double-spaced, type-written pages (excluding the cover page) on the following subject(s):

LEAD 162: Personal Responsibility: Inherent in executing my duties as a Boys/Girls State Junior Counselor I accepted that my role carried with it certain responsibilities. Three of these had a significant impact on my personal growth. They were...   The reasons each had a special significance and an example of that were as follows...

Please use and cite at least two reference documents with each paper. These can be resources provided by your state sponsoring organization, or independent readings of personal significance as a result of your summer experience.

Each FALL 2008 registrant is requested to submit their paper(s) not later than 5 December for the SUMMER 2008 and prior programs to their instructor of record, Mr. Bob Greene, at . Submission of the paper as an email attachment is the preferred method of delivery. Please include your name, the state organization you were a junior counselor for, a reliable email address, long-term reliable telephone number, and course number/title on the cover page. Early submissions are welcomed.

Submission of the paper as an email attachment is the preferred method of delivery. Please include your name, the state organization you were a junior counselor for, a reliable email address, long-term reliable telephone number, and course number/title on the cover page. Early submissions are welcomed.

Registration made easy!
When you register, you'll have the option to register for two elective leadership courses for the 4 college elective credits, LEAD 162: Making Connections (two credits) and LEAD 162: Personal Responsibility (two credits). Tuition is $55 per credit, or $220.00 for the full four UCCS elective credits. You can register anytime between 15 September 2008 and 30 November 2008.

The registration process takes approximately 3 days.

First, you will complete the Application for Extended Studies to receive a UCCS Student ID. Approximately 2 days later, you will receive your UCCS Student ID at the email address you entered when completing the Application for Extended Studies (check your Inbox or SPAM/Bulk mail folder).

Second, Once you have your Student ID, you will use it to request a UCCS PIN on or after 15 September 2008 by initiating your registration here. by completing the Student PIN Lookup Form (you should receive it within 60 seconds at the same email address as above).

Third, with both your student ID and PIN you will then formally register at the UCCS Student On-line Center for your desired credits.

Fourth, you can pay for these credits 24+ hours later at the same UCCS Student On-line Center, once a bill has appeared in your student account.

Finally, you request your 'no-charge' official or unofficial student transcript(s) after your homework is received (no later than 10 December 2008) and your grade is subsequently posted in your student files (on/after 19 December 2008). You request your transcript/grades via the UCCS Student On-line Center with your UCCS Student ID and PIN.
Registration for the 2008 Boys & Girls State Program will begin in May 2008.

Tuition is $55 per credit, or $220.00 for the full four UCCS elective credits.  The college preparatory 2-CD-ROM package, COLLEGE SUCCESS 101, is provided at no cost for 'Citizens' registering for three or more credits. You can register anytime between 1 April and 15 August 2008.
Boys and Girls State Citizens only, who opt out of the college credits but desire the CD-ROM, COLLEGE SUCCESS 101; for a $15 fee plus $3 for s.h., please email Ms. Keirston Stepp of College Options Foundation to request payment and shipment of the College Success CD package at kstepp@collegeoptions.net.
